We kindly thank Nicholas Turner who relates our drawing to two early painted representations of the Adoration of the Shepherds (preserved at Boughton House, Northamptonshire and at the Willumsen Museum, Denmark). Turner also cites two drawings (preserved at the Musée du Louvre and the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart) for an Adoration with stylistically comparable details (see accompaning essay, March 2016).
